Blovit #4 – Lions and Tigers and A.I.! Oh my!

We will be dead by the end of the decade.
September 30, 2026

We will be dead by the end of the decade.
This has been confirmed with a strongly worded “maybe” by the three current titans of the A.I. industry, Sam Altman, Elon Musk and Dario Amodei.
(As usual we aren’t hearing a peep from Google. They are snaking around our underwear drawers recording our every keystroke and watching for peccadilloes if cameras are nearby.)

Our government representatives are slack-jawed and immobile, frozen in fear, turning to their aides asking “Is it true? Siri is trying to kill ME!”

Mike Johnson in an effort to cover up the House’s total ineptitude in handling anything other than James Comer’s and Gym Jordan’s pitiful imitations of Judge Judy, sent everyone home to say goodbye to their loved ones … if they still have any.

He is preserving the façade of American Greatness so painstakingly reconstructed by our Fruit Powdered Fuehrer, with 500 billion of our money as thank you gift for the industries generous contributions to his campaign and those of his spineless, grimacing, Republican ass lickers.

Fear not or actually, fear a lot. A.I. is not a mythical, supernatural, out of control beast, ogre or monster – Terminator T-1000. That’s what they’re grooming you to believe … the simple folk, and the salt of the earth.

It is all manmade software and coding which through maliciousness or just plain incompetence is doing things it shouldn’t. The key word here is made by man. In other word, some highly paid Nerdadoodle may get a hair across his ass on some Friday, and decide to code all world-wide customer service systems to play Yoko’s Don’t Worry Kyoko (Mummy’s Only Looking for a Hand in the Snow) after they tell you your call is important.
Kyoko (click for the experience)

The fact of the matter is the Three Amigos, Altman, Musk and Amodei (maybe not Musk due to probable ketamine usage) are scared because they have no idea what their Nerdadoodles are up to. They never established the layers of control and oversight necessary when fiddling with a product whose destructive potential is only limited by the moral integrity, life experiences and mood swings of those Nerdadoodles.

This may be due the hoarding tendencies of nepo-billionaires. (They have no idea how much happiness costs or how much a billion is). Also, they tend to lack management skills. They buy stuff and hire people to run it. Their input in management consists of saying to those people “Beating China is top priority, but see where we can cut 10%! If you need me, I’ll be doing a podcast somewhere. Google me.” When they run into problems, they throw out speed bump after speed bump (lawyers) until their pursuers run out of money and give up the chase.

So what do we do Dorothy, you say? First, we stop thinking of A.I. as HAL’s and T-1000’s, entities bent on destruction. Instead paraphrase Charlton Heston’s famous line in Soylent Green, “A.I. IS PEOPLE!”.

All software, code, programs, and revisions must be traceable to a person. It’s time for the Execs of these companies to pony up the money to have layer upon layer upon layer of oversight to make sure this happens.
When A.I. goes off the rails, as Altman, Musk and Amodei have been fessing up to a lot lately, the person or persons responsible need to be held accountable. If it was due to them being an idiot with no real life experience, he or she and their supervisors and overseers will be fired and sentenced to work for the Peace Corps for ten years in a place like Palestine or Somalia. If it was done with malicious intent we reopen that ICE detention center in Alligator Alley and throw them in there for an appropriate number of years. In either case, the CEO’s and company are held financially and criminally responsible (if people die or are hurt).

Of course this is wishful thinking while the Republicans are in charge, since they can’t wait to get a hold of A.I. for their own nefarious reasons. We are already being brainwashed with an imagined Nerd Brain Race with China and any country capable of using an I-Phone. I think China is having the same apprehensions and worrying about their own Nerdadoodles having their A.I. murdering their own greedy bosses in their sleep.
